Norwood Chiropractic Centre

Norwood Chiropractic Centre

At Norwood Chiropractic Centre, their goal is to provide you with the best care possible. Their doctors will always take the time to get to know you, your health concerns, and ultimately guide you through your healing journey.  When they meet with you, they set you up with a personal step-by-step health plan which may include adjustments, in-office rehab, and home exercises.

When step into Norwood Chiropractic their goal is to help you with your goals, whether that may be to stay healthy, get out of pain, or optimize function.  If you are currently experiencing any symptoms of concern, their goal is to locate the root cause of what may be causing them.

In most cases, clients do not receive chiropractic care on the first visit. On the first day, their goal is to build your roadmap to recovery which will require them to perform a detailed physical examination, computerized nerve scans, and x-rays if needed. This is a critical first step because it allows them to fully understand where your body is now and what needs to be done to it in the future.  After the scans are done, they analyze them on your behalf and spend time explaining them to you.  Once you fully understand the issues your body is going through we will make the detailed plan to get you to full health.

One thing that sets Norwood Chiropractic apart from others is their Health Store. They have a full complement of products to allow patients a quicker recovery or just a way to live a healthier lifestyle.

Dr. Richard Ledda

Dr. Richard Ledda graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University in December 2015 and joined the clinic January 2016. He was apart of many technique clubs during school and has attended several seminars to continuously grow and learn. Family is his number one priority alongside his career. Dr. Richard has a passion to help as many people as he can to live a better, healthier life.

“As a boy going into my early teenage years, I had many health issues growing up,” says Dr. Ledda. “I suffered from daily headaches, neck pain, upper back pain, and low back pain.  I was overweight weighing about 250lbs, I was considered pre-diabetic, had early signs of a condition known as Metabolic Syndrome, suffered from headaches, and chronic asthma.

“By the age of 15, I had a tragic event occur in my life and that was the loss of my father to a massive heart attack. From that day on, I decided to turn my life around and dedicated my life to serving those closest to me as well as my community. Upon making my decision, I decided to pursue a career in medicine as I thought it was the answer for everything. Not knowing about all the answers to why people get “sick” I kept on the path towards becoming a medical doctor and with all the stresses of losing my father at a young age, I was diagnosed with clinical depression and was put on anti-depressant drugs. At this point, I was still suffering from asthma, headaches, and was developing more pain in my neck and back, especially in my late high school years. After a devastating car accident, a close friend referred me to her Chiropractor, and at this point I learned how amazing the body was and what it was capable of.

After half a year’s worth of routine visits to my Chiropractor, I started experiencing the life-changing benefits of Chiropractic care. No more headaches, no more neck pain, and no more back pain.  Also, adopting a healthier lifestyle, I started to see improvements in my asthma and was able to get off of my anti-depressant drugs. It was at this point, I decided that I would go to school to become a Chiropractor and dedicated my life to teaching the simple principle…that the body has the ability to heal and regulate itself as long as we support it with the right lifestyle habits, but first and foremost, making sure that the nervous system is working at it’s best.

Ashley Hansen

Ashley Hansen is new to the team at Norwood Chiropractic. She graduated with her Doctorate in December 2017 from Northwestern Health Sciences University. She has a particular passion for pediatrics and pregnancy care and is currently taking extra certification courses with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.

“Growing up, I played all kinds of sports and loved the outdoors. When I was 8 years old, I had a major fall off of a trampoline and quickly after suffered from severe headaches day after day,” says Ashley. “Later on, my dad took me to a Chiropractor twice, but being young, I had no understanding what he was doing. All that I remembered was no longer having headaches after those two visits and also experiencing better sleep. Being close to graduating, I now have a deeper understanding of how adjustments aid the body in functioning optimally. Throughout my adolescence, I continued to be very active playing volleyball, soccer, basketball, figure skating, and ringette. It was not until after graduating high school and beginning university where I became very inactive and unhealthy. Fifty pounds overweight and being the most unhealthy I have ever been, I then decided to take control of my health and my life where I began to starting feeling better inside and out. I dedicated myself to eating clean and working out consistently which led me to making many sacrifices. After 8 months and losing 50 pounds, I ended up competing in two natural bodybuilding competitions placing 1st and 3rd while also winning the Transformation Challenge.”

“Later on, I decided to obtain my personal training certificate to help change the lives of others for the better. With working out 7 days per week, I started to experience more back pain and stiffness, where I eventually ended not being able to run or perform squats properly. It was then where I was told to go to a Chiropractor again, and when I did, I quickly began to feel the benefits of being adjusted. After a few visits, I was able to run and lift heavy without feeling constant pain. I was able to get back into my fitness routine and feeling like my better self. It was with this experience where I learned more about Chiropractic and how it was important for maintaining a healthy body. Seeing how my Chiropractor would have such great relationships with his patients where people were happy to come in for regular check-ups is what made me decide to become a Chiropractor. I knew I wanted to help as many people as I could and I knew that Chiropractic was the way I wanted to do just that.”
