This year marks the 30th Anniversary of the WINNIPEG FRINGE THEATRE FESTIVAL. From July 19-30, the Exchange District will come alive as thousands of theatre enthusiasts join together to enjoy live music, tasty food and stories from around the globe. This year’s festival is bigger and better than ever, offering 190 shows from across Canada and around the world.
Advance tickets and passes are now on sale, and are available at winnipegfringe.com or in person at 174
Market Avenue. Tickets are wallet-friendly at $10-$12 and $5 for children (12 and under) at the Kids Venue.
Purchase a Fringe program to access a full listing of shows, venues and other essential information to help
navigate the festival. Programs are now available for only $5 at Manitoba Liquor Marts, the Royal Manitoba

submitting an online review to the www.Fringe.Exchange website created by our partners at 100%
Helpdesk. Not only will you be able to post or read patron reviews for all of the shows in the festival, but
you’ll also have access to more information provided by the performing companies about their shows.
NEW PLAY CONTEST: To support Canadian artists in their quest to bring new work to the stage, we’re
thrilled to announce the inaugural Winnipeg Fringe New Play Contest. We invite artists to submit original,
unproduced plays and musicals for a chance to win a free spot in the 2018 Winnipeg Fringe Theatre
Festival. Submissions will be accepted in early fall. For details on eligibility and applications, please visit

HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS YEAR’S FESTIVAL:
• KIDS FRINGE: Celebrate free family fun from noon – 3 pm on weekdays and noon – 6 pm on
weekends in the Red River College Courtyard beside Old Market Square. Young fringers can
participate in activities like crafts, games, demonstrations and more.
• LIVE MUSIC: On the outdoor stage, local bands in our noon-hour concert series and nightly
featured acts (10 pm) entertain crowds. Check out The Dirty Catfish Brass Band, The Noble Thiefs,
The Bloody Historians, Andino Suns, The Middle Coast, Mama Cutsworth and many more.
